I have no clue who is going to win this game on Monday, but I do have a play on the total that I like. MacKenzie Gore has struggled immensely over the last month or so. He has also struggled mightily in his career against the Mets, who historically hit left-handed pitching very well. Well if thats the case, then why is MacKenzie’s earned runs allowed prop juiced to the under? I have a feeling we’re getting a MacKenzie rebound start on Monday against a team that historically owns him…
David Peterson has been reliable for the Mets in his five starts this season. The Nationals struggle facing left-handed pitching this season. I’m not expecting the Nationals to light up the scoreboard at home on Monday even with their stud prospect making his debut. James Wood is left-handed, and although he has solid numbers against lefties in the minors, it won’t be an ideal matchup for the lefty in his first major league game.
Instead of backing the full game under and risking either bullpen blowing up, let’s target the F5 under. I am trusting MacKenzie Gore to rebound after some poor starts, and his pitching props tonight make it seem like he’s going to have a solid outing. I already know the Nationals are going to struggle against Peterson on Monday. They might find some success once they knock him out of the game, but he should be solid through the first five innings.
Considering how well the Mets hit left-handed pitching, I figured the total in this game would be higher. Let’s avoid any late-game meltdowns from either of these struggling bullpens and lock-in the F5 under. I’ll meet you at the cash counter after both starters throw gems in the first game of this series.
