MLB Betting Picks Today: Targeting the Astros vs. Blue Jays, Padres vs. Rangers

Well, we got burned in a 5-4 loss last night but we have another good slate here tonight and I want to get right back at it. Since this is such a solid slate, I actually want to dive into two plays tonight so I'm going to skip the prologue here and get right down to the nitty gritty.

MLB Betting Picks Today

Houston Astros vs. Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I really like this spot for the Astros in the rubber match of the series with a chance to bounce back here tonight. Houston has been playing excellent baseball to get above .500 after being 12 games under .500 at one point earlier in the season and I expect them to battle to stay above water as they try to chase down Seattle in the AL West. They nearly came back last night in a 6-7 loss to the Jays and they are poised to roll that momentum into this game tonight.

Ronel Blanco has the ball for Houston and in 34 at bats against these Jays hitters, he has allowed just two hits. They are slashing .059/.158/.132 against him. On the flip side, the Soros are slashing .298/.407/.669 in 84 at bats against Yusei Kikuchi for 25 hits, 17 of which were XBH.

San Diego Padres vs. Texas Rangers Prediction

I expect a lot of offense here in the one. Texas has been swinging the sticks lately with 23 runs across their last three games. Tonight, they get Adam Mazur who is sporting a 7.25 ERA and a 1.84 WHIP on the season. On the flip side, the Padres were embarrassed yesterday in a 7-0 loss and will look to get on the board tonight against a guy they have historically hit well. The Padres saw Jon Gray a lot when he was with the Rockies and they crush him; 49 hits on 129 at bats for a .380/.412/.634 slash line.
