For the first time in a couple of years, the Orioles have lost five straight games. The Guardians, on the other hand, now have the best record in baseball and are in the middle of a seven game winning streak. Will the O’s break out of their slump and hand the Guardians their first loss in over a week on Wednesday, or will Cleveland stay hot on the road?

If the Guardians weren’t pitching Carlos Carrasco, I’d say they have a chance at keeping their win streak alive. Unfortunately, they will be trotting out one of the worst starters in baseball. The O’s are starving for a victory, and if they can’t put up some runs against Carrasco on Wednesday, they’ve got some big problems they need to sort out…
Grayson Rodriguez will be taking the mound for the O’s, looking to rebound from a brutal start against the Astros last week. He got rocked for nine hits in five innings of work, but the young right-hander has bounced back nicely after some brutal outings this season. He relies heavily on strikeouts, and the Guardians don’t strike out much, but as I watch the adds on the moneyline continue to shift towards Baltimore and with a high total, “Gray Rod” isn’t going to have to be perfect. It will be the Orioles bats who bring home the win in this one…
Instead of backing the Orioles on the moneyline at (-205), let’s isolate the first half of this game. I’m fully expecting the Orioles offense to show up against one of the worst starters in baseball, but the O’s bullpen has been sketchy of late. I definitely don’t want to lay (-205) on the moneyline, and taking full game run lines with the potential for the home team to not have to bad in the bottom of the ninth typically keeps me off that bet. Instead, let’s take the O’s on the F5 run line.
I’m willing to bet that the Orioles are leading in this game after five innings. They might find a way to blow it late to the hottest team in baseball, but I feel confident in their abilities against the struggling Carrasco. Fade the Guardians in the first half of this game; I’ll meet you at the cash counter after the O’s hot start.
