The Dodgers opened up the betting favorite in this game when the lines dropped last night. Since then, Logan Webb and the Giants have gotten steamed up to the betting favorite. Now, the Giants do have the starting pitching advantage in this game, but the Dodgers young right-hander has been nearly unhittable of late. I was surprised to see the Giants catching this much steam against the best team in baseball, especially with less than 15% of the bets (on VSiN) currently betting on San Francisco tonight.

The Giants are one of the streakier teams in baseball. Although they are coming off a loss, they are playing solid baseball right now. They almost just swept the Cubs in their last series, and with their ace on the mound tonight, I like their chances of pulling out the victory in a close one. The Dodgers might be on a four-game win streak, but three of those wins were against the lowly White Sox. This team is due for a loss on the road, and it very well could be tonight against the Giants ace.
Logan Webb has some of the most severe home/away splits in baseball. On the road, he struggles and owns a 4.08 ERA. At home, on the other hand, Webb boasts a 2.06 ERA. I’m fully expecting another gem from Webb on his home mound tonight, especially with a total this low. It will be the Giants sneaky-powerful lineup that ends up on top when this game is through nine innings.
Back Logan Webb and the Giants at home on Friday night to hand the Dodgers their first loss in a week. Landon Knack has been great for the Dodgers of late, but I’m willing to bet this sneaky Giants lineup gets to him for the first time in a couple of starts.
