The Giants host the Cubs in San Fran to end Tuesday's MLB slate. Should you fade Kyle Hendricks and the Cubs tonight? Krabs shares his Chicago Cubs vs. San Francisco Giants prediction.
ANALYSIS

Chicago Cubs vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction:
Should You Fade Kyle Hendricks, Cubs?

The Giants just broke out of their mini-slump against the Cubs in the first game of the series on Monday. They will have to beat Kyle Hendricks coming off his best start in years if they want to string some wins together. Will the Giants start a win streak at home against Hendricks and the Cubs on Tuesday, or will “The Professor” continue to improve as the season progresses?

Chicago Cubs vs. San Francisco Giants Prediction

Kyle Hendricks is coming off back to back solid outings. He recorded 8 strikeouts in his last start against the Giants, the same team he will be facing tonight. The public seemingly thinks Hendricks is going to shove in back to back starts against the Giants with more than 50% of the bets (on VSiN) currently backing them on the moneyline. Let me tell you why that’s the wrong side in tonight’s contest…

The Giants are going with a bullpen game on Tuesday. On paper, this looks like a terrible decision. The Giants have the 25th worst bullpen ERA this season, and they will be opening the game with Randy Rodriguez, who’s given up at least a run in three of his last four appearances. If the Giants bullpen is that bad, then why are they did they flip from an underdog to a favorite with the majority of the public on the Cubs?

Based on line-reading alone, the Giants look like one of the sharpest plays of the day. Kyle Hendricks is coming off his best start in years, and the struggling Giants are going to have to rely on their horrid bullpen for nine innings. With the public backing the Cubs, we’ve seen significant steam towards the Giants at home for the second game of this series. This movement on the moneyline odds is a great sign for Giants backers, as the Cubs look like the easiest play on the MLB slate.

Fade Kyle Hendricks after the best start we’ve seen from him in years. The Giants just saw him the other day, and should make some adjustments at home after just facing him. He won’t have the advantage of pitching at his home ballpark in Tuesday night’s rematch. I’ll meet you at the cash counter after the Giants bullpen puts up their best performance of the season.
