Alex Morgan is the favorite to be the top scorer in the Women's World Cup. That's hardly a shock, but what is a shock is a certain name that is missing, Australia's Sam Kerr.

Kerr came in as the third favorite to win the Golden Boot, according to the latest odds, but on Wednesday it came out that Kerr had sustained a calf injury in training and would miss the first two games of the tournament.

It was already going to be an uphill battle for Kerr to outpace the pair of Americans above her as her +1000 odds made her the third favorite, but playing at least two fewer games than both Alex Morgan and Sophia Smith is too great of a hill to climb.
