Australia vs. France World Cup Betting Picks, Best Bets, and Predictions for Quarterfinals

Sam Kerr returning to the lineup is also great news for the host country. She hasn't been able to start a game this World Cup and will look to make her presence felt immediately. She returned late in their last-round matchup, which should give us confidence she will play important minutes. It's very hard for me to see her not starting in the toughest game of the tournament, but if she doesn't, there is no way she's not coming on by halftime. It seems she’s being priced like she’s not going to play full minutes, but I think she should be incredibly impactful even if she plays more limited minutes.

Australia vs. France Prediction

What really impressed me the most was how strong Australia looked in the minutes before Kerr entered. They were a team I was initially very unimpressed with, but it seems like the chemistry is setting in at the right time. In a tournament like the World Cup, catching fire at the right time is key. Now plug in one of the best players in the world, and you have a real chance to compete.

France has scored ten goals in their last two matchups and looks to be one of the strongest offensive teams in the tournament. France hasn't had the strongest competition yet, getting held to a 0-0 result against Jamaica, then cruising through a strong Brazil team, along with Morocco and Panama. While there are some solid wins, they have faced a team with the offensive capabilities of this Australia squad. I think we have ourselves a very competitive matchup today.

France has had the most crosses of any team in the tournament, and they have so many different weapons to get the job done on offense. They have been led by Kadidiatou Diani, who has four goals and four assists thus far. Diani is currently +165 to score or assist, which I think is great value considering her important role in this offense.  Le Sommer is the other critical offensive piece on this team, who will have plenty of opportunity.

I know I said it in our last article, but this is another game where I expected the odds on the total to be worse. With how strong both of these teams looked, it's hard for me to believe we don't see a ton of action. I'm going back to over 2.5 goals at +130 for the second straight day in a row.

I don't have a super confident side for this game, but one thing I can confidently say is these defenses are going to be tested for 90+ minutes tonight. For longshots, I sprinkled on Mary Fowler to have an assist, she had some amazing passes, and I swore I would bet this regardless of the price (+650) after watching the last matchup. Beyond that, let's get a little crazy! Sprinkled on Le Sommer/Foord 1+ goal at +1210 and Diani & Kerr to 2+ goals at +1200 and +1400.
