St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild Prediction: Ride with St. Louis

Great moments are born from great opportunities.

That is what WE have here tonight.

This is a max bet for me, four units. I try to be very transparent with my reads; I don’t just give you data, I like to build a narrative to let you in on what I am thinking so you know why I like the plays beyond the numbers. I’m also very open about the teams I support and strict about how I back them; I have brought it up numerous times this year and lately as we have been riding the Notes and they have cashed for us now in six consecutive games.

We are sticking with them tonight in the Lou.

St. Louis Blues vs Minnesota Wild Prediction

I love this spot guys, I started writing about this game last night and laid my wagers early due to my assumption that I knew who would be in net and I did (I love when that happens but let me get to that in a second.)

Let me be clear, The Minnesota Wild are a very good hockey team; that is why this line is virtually a pick ‘em. Their offensive prowess is undeniable, and they have the potential to pop off any night their skates hit the Ice; they went on a really nice run that moved them into a much better playoff position and are sitting second in the central.

I have hyped up the acquisition of Marc-Andre Fleury quite a bit and he is a huge addition for this club going down the stretch; they needed to tighten up on the back end and will be dangerous in the playoffs if they are in form.

With that said, I think they are playing in a letdown spot here tonight and I still don’t think everyone has realized that since MAF joined the club head coach Dean Evason has alternated starts between Cam Talbot and MAF. That is why I laid my wagers early; I figured the line would begin to swing when Talbot was announced; it’s his turn.

Beating a dead horse here but you all know I keep things sharp when betting my guys but I believe at this point they have made us more than enough profit this season to justify my point; I know them incredibly well and tend to have a pretty great feel for their games. St. Louis had a terrible March but as I said all it takes is a few for this team to jump into form and that is exactly what they have done.

They have left with points in six consecutive games while winning five and have roared back into playoff position. After losing their second seat in the conference and falling all the way to fourth place with the Dallas Stars right on their tail, they now find themselves sitting one point behind Minnesota with 90 and a chance to overtake them for second place this evening.

Minnesota is on the final game of a grueling four-game road trip in which they have played Carolina, Washington, and most recently Nashville who they lost to 6-2. They have been great lately but few teams stay dominant all season, most go on runs. Minnesota has dropped two of four and sending out their non-hall of fame netminder tonight; they obviously want to win and hold the second seed but their schedule and spot in the playoffs is almost solidified.

St. Louis has their number and needs this game if they want to keep the train rolling forward; I know my guys and how they play and the motivation factor is a huge one for them. They are red hot and have scored 28 goals in their last six games for a solid 4.68 GF/G and are on home ice tonight where they not only dominate in general but dominate Minnesota as well.

They have won four of the last five in the series including the last three straight in St. Louis and beat them by three or more goals in all those games. I am not sure if this one is a blowout tonight, but I know how these teams play each other and St. Louis really plays them with some hatred.

Ville Husso will be in net on home ice and the guys in front of him are playing excellent hockey. Motivation and the will of a team really shine through from here on out; teams that want to win will win hockey games over the next two months. Craig Berube will fire them up and is coaching them terrifically and once again has them in a position to make another run at the Stanley Cup.

Some guys have left and retired but the heart and soul of that 2019 Stanley Cup team is alive and fully visible on the ice if you know what you are looking at when watching them play lately. Look for Vladdy, DP57, O’Reilly, and Co. to continue pushing this team forward and for them to keep this run going as they play a game tonight that can keep them steaming forward or potentially derail their momentum. The run has been great but you made that run to get here, to get your spot back. I am trusting the Blue Notes once more to get the job done for us this evening.
