MLB Picks Today: Targeting Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres on Friday Night

There’s an absolutely loaded MLB slate on Friday night. I am especially looking forward to the later games. Get ready to crack open a cold one, kick the feet up and enjoy some great MLB action. Here are a few of my late-night plays to start your weekend off right with some winners…

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Seattle Mariners Prediction

You’re telling me Zac Gallen, the Diamondbacks “ace,” is only (-130) on the moneyline against Emerson Hancock and his 6.20 ERA? Arizona looks like the easiest bet on the board for tonight, which means we should stay as far away from that side as possible. The oddsmakers are giving Hancock and the Mariners some serious respect barely making them underdogs against the Diamondbacks’ best starting pitcher.

After a very slow start to the season, Seattle is finally starting to settle-in. Julio Rodriguez crushed his first HR of the season the other day and their heavy-hitters are starting to heat up. The Mariners play much better at home than they do on the road, and their opponent tonight falls victim to those dreaded splits as well. Zac Gallen has been nearly perfect at home this season, but on the road he hasn’t been nearly as lucky. Fade Gallen as the snakes continue to struggle this season…

Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Diego Padres Prediction

Aaron Nola has gotten out to a great start this season, but his props for tonight are making it seem like he’s going to get roughed-up a bit on the road tonight. After opening up (-120) favorites, the Phillies are now a Pick ‘Em on some books, depending where you look. That’s some serious line respect on Joe Musgrove with his 5.75 ERA…

I like what I’ve seen out of the Padres offensively early-on this season. Although they are coming off a series loss to the Rockies, it wasn’t because of their offense. With the Padres catching steam on the moneyline, I’ll take my chances with Musgrove at home where he’s already put up some solid outings this season. He’s coming off his best start yet against the Blue Jays where he dealt for seven innings.

Back the Padres on the moneyline at home tonight; there’s a reason they are now a Pick ‘Em against the 16-10 Phillies with one of the best starting pitchers on the bump. Just by looking at Nola’s props, you can tell oddsmakers don’t believe in Nola on the bump tonight.
