PGA Power Rankings: Top 5 for 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson

With the second major of the year, the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla now just a few weeks away, the Tour makes its swing back west for the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson in McKinney, Texas.  With this being the fourth CJ Cup at TPC Craig Range, previous events were held at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, so we have little to draw on in terms of course history.

Moving away from last week’s team event, we are back to a full 156-man field, with most of the Tour’s star power choosing to take the week off with the second major of 2024 just a couple weeks away. With Jordan Spieth (+1400), Si Woo Kim (+1600), and Jason Day (+2000) leading the way, let’s dive into my top five in this week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

TPC Craig Ranch, McKinney, TX

Measuring 7,414 yards, TPC Craig Ranch is a par 71 with Bentgrass greens being featured throughout. Coming off the past few weeks, this course will play relatively easier, and players will have plenty of chances to go low if their approaches are dialed in.

1. Jason Day (+2000) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Day has cooled off following a hot start to the season, but he comes into this one with the confidence of having won the event last year. Perfect track to get the Aussie back on track.

2. Si Woo Kim (+1600) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Now a local to the area, Si Woo came in second place last year but one could make the argument his game has vastly improved. With top 20s in five of his past eight starts, look for a strong showing this week.

3. Will Zalatoris (+2200) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Zalatoris is also another local playing in this week’s event, and his journey back from back surgery is still waiting for its big pop. With three top 10s over his past eight starts, Zalatoris is trending in the right direction.

4. Byeong Hun An (+2500) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Now top 20 on Tour in driving, FIR, and pars, Hun An is starting to turn a corner to be a regular top player on Tour. With a T14 here last season, I expect another strong showing this week.

5. Alex Noren (+2500) CLICK HERE TO SEE WHICH SPORTSBOOK HAS THE BEST ODDS

Now second on Tour in GIR, Noren has proven he can compete with the best of the best. With five straight top 25s coming into this event, look for Noren to take advantage of the weaker than usual field.
