Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka 2 Odds: Pereira Given 58% Chance To Beat Prochazka at UFC 303

We are now just hours away from the start of a historic UFC 303 live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, as Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka face off for the second time in less than a year. Originally, UFC 303 was supposed to be headlined by the return of Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, but the fight was scrapped just last week due to a toe injury from McGregor.

As he has now done on multiple occasions, Pereira stepped in to save the day, as he looks to build on a UFC legacy that already includes being just the ninth fighter in history to claim titles in two different weight classes. With great fights littered all over this card from top to bottom, let’s take a closer look at the main event of the evening, diving into the details of both fighters and where the odds are headed for this one.

When the odds for this light heavyweight rematch opened, Pereira was listed as a -150 favorite with the challenger listed closer to +130. Since then, we saw the champ dip as low as -130, as he now settles in closer to -140 as fight night in Las Vegas approaches.

Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka UFC 303 Prediction

Alex Pereira

Having only been in the UFC for less than three years, Pereira has already cemented his legacy perhaps faster than any other fighter in the history of the promotion. With a pre-established rivalry with Israel Adesanya, Pereira got the best of him in his debut, beating Izzy at MSG in November 2022 to secure the middleweight strap.

Jiri Prochazka

A former light heavyweight champion himself, Prochazka gave up the belt due to a severe shoulder injury in 2022, stepping back into the octagon to fight for it against Pereira in November 2023. The challenge was deemed to be too much too soon, as Prochazka looked in control in the first round before over-extending himself in the second before getting finished.

Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka Pick

In a fight that will almost surely remain on the feet, Pereira has continued to show improvement on the ground since joining the UFC in 2021, and I think once again he will prove to be the all-around better fighter. With a win potentially setting himself up to go for the elusive three-division champ status, I like Pereira to handle business on late notice once again.
