UFC 303: Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka Odds, Date, How to Watch, and Predictions for UFC 303

While it might not be the UFC 303 fight card we expected, it just might end up being the one we needed. The MMA world was turned upside down last week, as it became apparent that the long-awaited return of Conor McGregor would have to wait, as his bout versus Michael Chandler was again put on hold; this time because of a toe injury to McGregor. The co-main between Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree also fell through, adding a brand new main and co-main event for the card that would headline International Fight Week.

As has come tradition, in steps Alex Pereira to save the day, he’ll put his light heavyweight belt on the line once again, this time in a rematch against Jiri Prochazka. Can Jiri get it done the second time around? Let’s take a closer look at both fighters and how this one is shaping up to go.

Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka Odds

When the odds opened up for this light heavyweight rematch, Pereira was listed as a -150 favorite, with Prochazka listed in the +130 range. From there, the money came in on the underdog, as Prochazka is now closer to +110 and Pereira sits as low as -130.

Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka UFC 303 Prediction

Alex Pereira (10-2-0)

Since joining the UFC in 2021, Pereira has quickly made history becoming the first UFC champion to pick up two belts; the middleweight and light heavyweight strap. While he has since conceded the middleweight belt back to Israel Adesanya, Pereira has won three straight, the last two of which came inside the distance via TKO/KO.

Jiri Prochazka (30-4-1)

Pereira’s second fight at light heavyweight came against Prochazka for the vacant light heavyweight belt, a fight he won in decisive fashion via a second-round TKO. A former champion himself, Prochazka was also a light heavyweight champion in his two former promotions, picking up belts in both the Gladiator Fighting Championship and Rizin Fighting Federation.

Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka Pick

While both of these fighters are known for their striking, many casual observers would say that Prochazka has a clear advantage on the ground. A closer look shows that Pereira’s 70% takedown defense has done nothing but improve since joining the UFC, and I expect that area of his game to continue to be buttoned up.

Though this one might get into the later rounds, I like for Pereira to once again prevail and show the world why he’s the most dangerous guy fighting for the promotion today.

Pick: Alex Pereira (-130) at DraftKings Sportsbook
