Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes Odds, Date, How to Watch, and Predictions for UFC 303

As fight night for UFC 303 has approached over the past few weeks, we’ve seen one fiasco after another as both the main and co-main events have been swapped out. While the main event between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler got all the headlines, the co-main vent between Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr. was also scrapped.

Instead, a featherweight clash between Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes will now be the co-main, as the fight should be a terrific one, and one with title implications. Let’s take a closer look at where the odds are headed, both fighters' recent form, and who I like to walk away victorious when all is said and done.

Ortega vs. Lopes Date, Time, and Where to Watch

Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes Odds

When the odds opened up for this fight just last week, Lopes was listed as a -150 favorite with Ortega sitting in the +125 range. Since then, things have remained stagnant, as the odds haven’t moved in the time since.

Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes UFC 303 Prediction

Brian Ortega (16-3-0)

Following a shoulder injury in his fight against Yair Rodriguez in the summer of 2022, Ortega took time off to properly heal, returning for a rematch against Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs. Royal 2 in February. After a contested first two rounds, Ortega’s experience took over in round three, winning via submission on his way to a Performance of the Night bonus.

Diego Lopes (24-6-0)

Lopes rise to a big-time fight has been a swift one, as he comes into this co-main event with just four fights in the UFC and a win propelling him to a title shot. Making his debut with the promotion back in August 2021 on Dana White’s Contender Series, Lopes lost a decision that night, but would later get a call from the UFC in May 2023.

Brian Ortega vs. Diego Lopes Pick

While Lopes lost that May 2023 to Movsar Evloev, he caught the UFC’s attention and hasn’t let go of it since. Three fights and three first-round finishes later, Lopes gets the top 10 guy he’s been searching for, but I feel that it is rushed. While has the momentum, Ortega has the experience and the skill set to handle an early flash bang.

Pick: Brian Ortega (+125) at DraftKings Sportsbook
