Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Napoli Prediction

Eintracht Frankfurt: No Pushovers

Frankfurt’s first-ever qualification for the Champions League knockout phase makes them the 11th German club to reach this stage. The Bundesliga side blew hot and cold during the Champions League group stages but they managed to pick up 10 points in six games to earn them tickets to the round of 16.

Let’s not forget that Eintracht Frankfurt enjoyed a superb continental form under Oliver Glasner. Frankfurt beat Rangers on penalties to win the 2021/22 Europa League on a dramatic night in Seville. In fact, they are the first German winners of the Europa League and they did it without losing. Filip Kostic produced 15 assists last season, including a tournament-leading six in the Europa League but signed with Juventus last summer.

They lost some important players but they have secured the services of Randal Kolo Muani from FC Nantes. In less than one season, Kolo Muani has his own chant at the Deutsche Bank Park. The France international, who impressed at the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar, has been catching the eye of the top teams in the EPL. The 24-year-old has registered 15 goals and 11 assists this season. He continues to attract interest from the Premier League with the club requesting $100m for his transfer.

It’s probably the deal of the century in Europe’s top five leagues because arrived for free last year and now he's worth $100 million.

Napoli: Top scorers in the group stage

Napoli has been a revelation in both Europe and Serie A this term. Napoli has picked up 62 points from a possible 69 in the Italian Serie A and they are the only team in the Champions League with 20 goals scored in the group stages this season, an average of 3.33 per match. Spalletti’s troops are leading the scoring charts in Serie A, bagging 56 goals after 23 rounds, 12 more than any other side in the domestic league.

Victor Osimhen is enjoying a season that will live long in the memory. The striker is arguably currently the most in-form player in Europe and could even be on his way to becoming an all-time great. He has scored in each of his last seven Serie A games, including braces against Spezia and Juventus.

Napoli has managed to establish a huge 15-point lead in Serie A and they can now afford to focus on their Champions League campaign. They have an incredible attacking lineup, and they were the only team to feature three players who were involved in five group-stage goals.

Another important player is the new Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia who has been involved in eight goals in his last five games, scoring in three consecutive ones. His superb display in the group stage saw him become the first Napoli player to register a goal and an assist in multiple Champions League games during a single season since Dries Mertens in 2017/18. He has shown no signs of slowing down this season and we expect him to deliver once again on Tuesday.

There’ll be a fantastic atmosphere and two teams in great shape. Napoli is playing high-intensity football and is very aggressive without the ball. Both teams are playing on the front foot so we’re expecting goals.
