Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns Player Prop Picks: Going Back To Devonta Freeman

The Baltimore Ravens are looking to keep their top spot in the AFC North this Sunday in Cleveland. Baltimore is facing their third consecutive divisional matchup after beating Cleveland two weeks ago and falling to the Steelers last week. The Browns, meanwhile, are facing the Ravens in their second consecutive game after a bye week.

For yet another AFC North contest with major playoff implications, I’ll be detailing my two favorite player props from Sunday’s game in Cleveland. Let’s roll!

Devin Duvernay Over 1.5 Receptions (+120 @ Caesar’s)

Devin Duvernay has marked his territory as the number two wide receiver in Baltimore over the last couple of weeks. Fellow wideout Rashod Bateman seems to have found himself in the doghouse recently. Bateman has seen his snaps decrease quite a bit over Baltimore’s last two games, and he even went catch-less against Pittsburgh last weekend. This opens the door for Duvernay, who presents terrific value on his receptions over in Cleveland this week.

Duvernay has multiple catches in eight of his last ten games, good for an 80% hit rate since Week 3. He’s averaging 2.5 catches and 3.4 targets per game during this stretch. We don’t need him to become Davante Adams or Cooper Kupp this Sunday, as Dev should get the job done for us on just a few targets.

The Browns have been below average against the pass this season, and shouldn’t be a prohibitive matchup for Duvernay. As long as Lamar Jackson doesn’t absolutely implode against Cleveland for the second game in a row, which I deem fairly unlikely, the Baltimore aerial attack should rebound in Week 14. Greg Newsome II, a rookie cornerback who’s been great in coverage for the Browns this season, also was ruled out today with a concussion.

Duvernay to catch two balls at plus odds is a terrific value, and we only need Lamar Jackson to look his way a few times in what should be a bounceback game for the superstar QB.

Devonta Freeman Over 11.5 Rushing Attempts (-128 @ BetMGM)

Devonta Freeman has clearly asserted himself as the top dog in a Ravens backfield that has been severely depleted by injuries in 2021. Latavius Murray and Ty’Son Williams have had their moments, but it’s been Freeman who has dominated the touches lately.

Freeman has posted rushing attempt totals of 13, 10, 16, 16, and 14 over his last five games, hitting the over on this prop in four of five games and averaging 13.8 carries per game. And, his competition for touches in the Baltimore backfield is only decreasing. Here’s the distribution of carries among Baltimore RB’s over their last five games:

  • Devonta Freeman - 69
  • Latavius Murray - 20
  • Le’Veon Bell - 14
  • Ty’Son Williams - 1

Bell isn’t even on the team anymore and Freeman has been far more productive than Murray, averaging 3.9 yards per carry in comparison to Murray’s 2.4 in the months of November and December. Freeman has out-touched Murray 17-8 and 19-4 over the last two weeks and is building towards having a monopoly on RB touches for the Ravens.

Freeman is coming off of a season-high 69% snap share and should remain heavily involved against Cleveland in a game that is expected to stay close wire to wire. The former Atlanta Falcon had 16 carries against the Browns two weeks ago, and we could be in for a repeat performance when it comes to the running back’s usage on Sunday.
