Ben Sinnott went from a non-scholarship back-up tight end that mainly focused on run-blocking to an honorable mention All-American. Not many players have improved their draft stock not only at the tail-end of his college career, but during the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine more than Ben Sinnott. Coaches and scouts were impressed by his versatility at the combine, finishing with many of the drills’ best scores for tight ends.
After seeing the immediate impact guys like Sam LaPorta and Dalton Kincaid had last season, I wouldn’t be shocked if Sinnott went earlier in the draft than many are predicting. He’s an all-around stud at the tight-end position who can both pass and run block, and make plays in the end-zone. Sinnott recorded 6 TDs and lined up all over the field as a fullback, tight end, and in the spot and at receiver as well.
Brock Bowers will be the first tight end off the board in this year, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Sinnott gets take shortly after. You can bet on the second tight end taken off the board in this year’s Draft. Both Sinnott and Ja’Tavion Sanders are (+210) to be the second tight end drafted, and with Sinnott’s elite combine performance and draft stock trending upward, I don’t see Sanders getting the call before him. Back the Kansas State stud to hear his name called potentially late in the first round, but to be the second tight end selected in the Draft. I even have Sinnott ahead of Brock Bowers on my big board…
