The Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off tough losses. Now they square off in Week 13. Which team has the edge? Matt McCuen takes a look and gives us his favorite bet.
ANALYSIS

Los Angeles Rams vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Prediction: Win This One in the First Half

The Jacksonville Jaguars will travel West on Sunday to face the Los Angeles Rams. The Jags, led by first-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence and first-year head coach Urban Meyer, have struggled to start their 2021 campaign. This season is a lost cause for this Jags team as far as the postseason is concerned, but they will be playing to show off their skill sets moving forward. Maybe Jags fans are hoping the team will lose out and get another great draft pick to help this young football team.

The Rams are in a completely different mode seeing themselves as the betting favorite to win the NFC for most of October. The Rams made headlines back-to-back weeks, landing household names first in Von Miller then quickly after Odell Beckham Jr. The Rams ended Halloween one of the best teams in the NFL with just one loss, but it has been a house of horrors for LA since then losing four straight games. The Ram's last win came on Halloween day over the Houston Texans, the worst team in football. This will be a big bounce-back month for the Rams, who currently find themselves as the leader in the NFC Wildcard, but the division is slowly slipping away to the Arizona Cardinals.

Rams vs. Jaguars Prediction

The stage will be set on Sunday for the Rams facing one of the NFL's weakest teams. This is the perfect get-me-right spot for the La Rams on Sunday to get back to form and reset for a strong postseason run.

This Jacksonville team comes into this game ranked as one of the worst offenses and one of the worst defenses. This simply is not a good team, and I do not expect them to play with the same drive and effort the rest of this season, knowing that their season is over. On the other side of things, the Rams will come into this game and put everything that they have on the line.

This Rams offense was one of the top offenses in the NFL when they jumped out to that 7-1 start, but they have regressed in the past few weeks now facing a defense as weak as the Jaguars are they will get right in this game early and often. The play I will be going with for this contest will be the Rams on the first half spread at -6.5. This line is too short for me for what is at stake as I have said the Rams need this game, and the Jags do not.

The Rams finally get back home and get a fresh start to the month. They will dominate this football game on both sides of the ball. I have this line close to a -10 on the first half, so I love getting the -6.5 in this game.

The usual suspects will do damage on offense in Matthew Stafford, who has struggled the last month, so he will be out to prove that he is still a star quarterback. The secondary for the Jags have got torched all season, and now they will have to face dynamic weapons in Cooper Kupp, Odell Beckham Jr, and Van Jefferson. Kupp is having one of the best seasons of any wideout in NFL history, and he will be a matchup nightmare for the Jaguars this week. The defense for the Rams also has struggled during this losing streak, but they will be on their game come Sunday facing the rookie QB in Trevor Lawrence. The Rams will roll in this one, and we should get a sweat-free winner to kick off our Sunday.
