Sacramento Kings vs. New Orleans Pelicans Player Prop Pick: Can Brandon Ingram Make an Impact in NBA Play-In?

Today the Sacramento Kings travel to the Bayou to take on the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans will be without star power forward, Zion Williamson, which is a huge blow to the team. I believe the Pelicans will have to rely on Brandon Ingram to get it done for them and down below I will be explaining which prop I am taking.

Kings vs. Pelicans Date, Time, and Where to Watch

Sacramento Kings vs. New Orleans Pelicans Prediction

First off, Zion Williamson is out for the New Orleans Pelicans today which means Brandon Ingram will be the main man for the squad today. Second, the coach sent a very clear message to Ingram last game by leaving him on the bench for the fourth quarter during the Lakers game, that he needs to have a better attitude and needs to step it up.

This can go both ways, but apparently Brandon Ingram showed up to practice early today and the coach praised him for "knocking off some rust." With a playoff spot on the line and with Zion out, I expect a big game today from Ingram. He will be the focal point of attack for the Pelicans today.

In the last ten games without Zion, he is averaging 18.6 field goal attempts a game and 4.8 free throw attempts per game. In today's game he will play more minutes compared to those regular season games without Zion as well. To also add to all of this the Kings give up amongst the higher points to small forwards, and Ingram is over this line in five out of his last six games against them in the past year.

I'm also going with assists here because he'll be the ball handler on a lot of plays and if the Kings decide to double him, he will find even more opportunities to kick it out for a three point attempt. He is averaging 5.6 assists per game this season, but in games without Zion that jumps up to 6.3 assists per game. Without Zion though, Ingram is over this line in seven out of his last ten games. The Kings are below average in terms of limiting assist opportunities and in the three games against the Kings without Zion, Ingram has seven, six, and eight assists respectively.
