Nikola Jokic has been marvelous as a scorer to begin the NBA Finals. In Game 1, he scored 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. In Sunday night's Game 2, he dropped 41 points on 16 of 28 FG.
The Joker has averaged 30.4 points per game this postseason, and he's upped that number to 32.6 PPG over his last 14 games. He scored at least 27 points during this stretch in 11 of his 14 games.
The superstar center played 40 and 42 minutes in the first two games of this Miami series and should remain locked into as significant a role as he can handle. He's played at least 38 minutes in 24 games this season; he cashed this over in 16 of those 24 games, averaging 32.6 PPG.
Jokic was incredibly aggressive in Game 2, as the 6'9" Bam Adebayo was too small to stop him in the paint one-on-one. Meanwhile, Erik Spoelstra elected to send fewer double teams at the Serbian native than he did in Game 1. Miami will likely continue to throw different defensive coverages at the best player in the world. But if he's aggressive in Game 3, he should be able to score 40-plus points yet again.
