NBA Playoffs Props Today: Two Props to Target for Monday (5/8)

The NBA Playoffs deliver peak entertainment every single night. With two more games on tap this evening, I expect another pair of awesome games.

The New York Knicks are looking to even up the series at 2-2 in Miami tonight, while the Golden State Warriors hope to do the same in Los Angeles in a Game 4 matchup out west. Everything points toward an electric doubleheader on TNT, starting at 7:30 PM ET.

Let's jump into today's picks!

NBA Props - Monday, May 8

Bam Adebayo + RJ Barrett Same Game Parlay (-131) Best Odds Available at FanDuel

  • Leg 1: Bam Adebayo Under 21.5 Points
  • Leg 2: RJ Barrett Under 26.5 Points
  • Leg 3: RJ Barrett Under 7.5 Rebounds

Of the 4 second-round playoff series, the old-school battle between the Knicks and Heat has offered the least offensive firepower. So, we'll target some unders for both Bam Adebayo and RJ Barrett in Game 4.

Bam Adebayo has struggled to score the ball in the playoffs over the last two seasons, and this series has been no exception. The Miami big man is averaging just 15.4 points per game in the playoffs over the last two years, and he's scored less than 21.5 points in 21 of his 26 playoff games. Through three games this round, he's failed to top the 17-point mark in any contest. And, he's scored fewer than 20 points in 9 of 10 games against Mitchell Robinson and the Knicks over the last two seasons, averaging 16.1 PPG.

Similar to Bam, RJ Barrett has been fine, but unspectacular, in this series. The Knicks will likely be without Immanuel Quickley tonight, but will otherwise be whole, and that doesn't bode well for RJ's scoring prospects. The former Duke Blue Devil has played 20 games alongside the trio of Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson, and Josh Hart; these two legs have cashed in 19 of these 20 games. RJ has averaged just 17.2 PPG and 4.0 RPG with Randle, Brunson, and Hart. Barrett has performed considerably worse on the road this postseason, so I'm not expecting a huge performance from him or Bam Adebayo in Game 4.

LeBron James Under 26.5 Points (-115) Best Odds Available at BetMGM

I hate fading the King, but this line just feels too high. In 9 playoff games, LeBron James has scored less than 26.5 points in 8 of them, averaging just 22.1 points per game. His lone over was in a 28-point performance against the Memphis Grizzlies, and that took 23 field goal attempts and 39 minutes for him to get there.

Some lopsided blowout results have skewed LeBron's scoring average down a bit in this series. But, he's still only scoring 24.6 points per 40 minutes this postseason. Andrew Wiggins has done a great job defending the 4-time champion, and he should continue to serve as Golden State's primary LeBron defender in this one.

James has remained under this line in 14 of 17 games alongside both Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell; he's scored just 23.9 points per 36 minutes in these games. This line feels over-inflated by a couple of points, so I'm cautiously taking the under on LeBron's scoring total in Game 4.
