Tuesday, April 4th NBA Player Props

DeMar DeRozan Over 24.5 Points (-120) (Bet $120 to collect $220) Best odds available at BetMGM; click here to bet

Thanks to a recent 9-4 stretch over their last 13 games, the Chicago Bulls are within striking distance of the Atlanta Hawks, who happen to be their opponent this evening. Chicago clinches a spot in the Eastern Conference play-in with one more win and has a real chance to move up from the 10-seed with a strong close to their season.

Without De'Andre Hunter, an Atlanta Hawks defense that was already bad has become even worse. Atlanta ranks as the NBA's 3rd-worst defense over their last 15 games. Dejounte Murray will likely be Zach LaVine's primary defender tonight, which leaves DeMar DeRozan with easier matchups and plenty of scoring opportunities.

The Hawks have allowed 33 points to Jordan Nwora, 42 points to Mikal Bridges, and 41 points to Kyrie Irving over their last three contests without Hunter. Meanwhile, DeRozan has scored at least 25 points in 25 of 37 games seeing at least 36 minutes this season, averaging 28.3 points per game in this sample. He's hit this over in six of his last eight games against the Hawks (29.8 PPG) and in all three meetings this season. Look for him to torch one of the NBA's worst defenses yet again in a meaningful game tonight.

Fred VanVleet Over 8.5 Assists (-114) (Bet $114 to collect $214) Best odds available at FanDuel; click here to bet

Fred VanVleet is fresh off of a career-high 20-assist performance in Sunday's win over the Charlotte Hornets. Tonight, he gets the good fortune of facing Charlotte once again. The 20 assists came on a mind-boggling 26 potential assists and also marked a Toronto franchise record.

The midseason addition of Jakob Poeltl has done wonders for both himself and VanVleet. Toronto finally has a legitimate pick-and-roll threat. And, in a matchup against the undersized Hornets, VanVleet was able to consistently get Poeltl the ball down low for easy finishes over shorter defenders.

The all-star point guard has recorded 8+ assists in all three games against Charlotte this season. And the Hornets have allowed 8+ assists to an opponent in seven of their last eight games. FVV's 34.0% assist rate over his last 18 games marks a massive increase from his 25.7 AST% in his prior 48 games this season. Look for him to continue running the show for Toronto's offense tonight.

Shaedon Sharpe Over 22.5 Points (-120) (Bet $120 to collect $220) Best odds available at FanDuel; click here to bet

The Portland Trail Blazers front office is hoping for as many losses as possible to close the season. They've shut Damian Lillard, Anfernee Simons, and Jerami Grant down for the season, giving the keys to younger players to develop as the team hopes to increase their lottery odds.

However, Shaedon Sharpe refused to let the Blazers lose on Sunday. He was magnificent, scoring 27 points while leading Portland to the NBA's largest ATS upset of the 21st century.

Sharpe has scored at least 24 points in six of his last seven games, averaging 24.7 PPG. He's taking 18.7 shots per game, in addition to 4.9 free throw attempts per game, in 37.8 minutes of action each night. He has an incredibly tough matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies this evening, but the rookie's usage should help him achieve another productive performance.
