We are heading back to the diamond today as both the NHL Playoffs and NBA Playoffs come to a halt for the next few days, as both leagues prepare for the finals in their respective sports. Until then, we focus on the diamond where we've had success this season, and I plan on continuing that trend.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Philadelphia Phillies Prediction
Well, the Sunday Night Baseball curse (teams play poorly after playing the weekly Sunday Night Baseball game of the week) only applies in my eyes if the team has to travel after that, so the Phillies do not fall into that category tonight. They took the series two games to one over the St. Louis Cardinals this weekend, but dropped last nights game 5-4 in extras. Tonight, they look to bounce back against the Brewers in game one of this series and luckily for them, they send Zack Wheeler to the mound. Wheeler has been one of the best pitchers in the National League for the last five consecutive years, and is coming off a season in which he finished sixth in the Cy Young voting. Thus far on the season, he's sporting a 2.32 ERA to go along with his 6-3 record. In 84 at-bats against these Brewers hitters, he has held them to a .226/.261/.323 slash line. I know Koenig has been good for Milwaukee, but I like the way Philly tends to bounce back and love Wheeler at home.
Detroit Tigers vs. Texas Rangers Prediction
This line is pretty even as it should be with two teams sharing identical records and strong starting pitchers going for both squads, but I like the home team here. Texas has been plagued with injuries in the rotation, so when guys like Eovaldi have the ball, you have to capitalize and give him run support. The bats are trending in the right direction for Texas with six plus runs in three of their last four games, while Detroit has failed to score more than three runs in three of their last five. Trust the home team here at a good price.
