New York Yankees vs. San Diego Padres Prediction: Can Carlos Rodon, Yankees Get It Done?

Back with some action on the diamond finally and I want to head out to the West Coast for this one. The New York Yankees are going coast-to-coast for a clash with the San Diego Padres and I really like this spot for the guys in pinstripes to get it done tonight.

New York Yankees vs. San Diego Padres Prediction

Carlos Rodon has the ball for the Yankees tonight and he has been excellent so far this season sporting a 3.27 ERA to go along with his 5-2 record. Historically, he has thrown the ball well against current Yankees hitters conceding just nine hits on 60 at bats for a slash line against of just .150/.227/.234 to tally up to a very poor OPS of .461. Rodon has struck out 19 of those 60 while issuing just six walks and the Friars currently rank 24th in the league for wOBA against lefties.

On the flip side, Yu Darvis is off to an even better start to the season at 4-1 with a 2.08 however he has struggled against this current Yankees lineup. They have 15 hits on 35 at bats for a team slash line of .441/.457/.638 and a 1.095 OPS against. They have scored 26 runs in their last five games so it is safe to say the bats are hot.

First game back home off a road trip is always tough and the Friars do not get a war welcome back here tonight; they have an inter league clash with one of the best teams in baseball and will have to battle to take game one tonight.
