Logan Webb has been great this season, but his home/away splits are significant. He’s been nearly unhittable at home, but on the road he’s been beatable. Tonight, the Giants will face Taijuan Walker and the Phillies on the road. Will the red-hot Phillies win their fifth game in a row, or will the Giants steal one with their ace on the mound?

It wasn’t a pretty debut for Taijuan Walker, but let’s cut him some slack here; that was his worst start of the season. He got rocked against the Padres on the road, which I’m sure was a wake-up call to the veteran. Returning home on Sunday, he will have a chance against a struggling Giants offense to get right.
San Francisco remains a handful of games under .500, but if their offense continues to struggle all the pressure remains on the Giants arms to keep them in games. The Phillies scored 14 runs against the Giants yesterday in a blowout performance yesterday. They are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. I’m banking on a Walker bounce-back start after getting crushed in his debut and the Phillies bats to stay hot.
I typically don’t like fading Logan Webb, but on the road he is beatable. This Phillies lineup continues to put up crooked numbers as they hold down first place in the NL East. Even with Logan Webb coming into town, the Giants might hang around early, but Philly’s bats will prevail. They also have a significant bullpen advantage against the Giants, whose veteran arms have struggled mightily at the end of games in 2024.
The Giants are overvalued on the moneyline tonight with their ace on the bump. I’m backing the Phillies bats to stay red-hot, and once Webb exits this game it might get ugly. If you need a Sunday Night Baseball play, lock-in the Phillies on the moneyline; this one might be close early, but I’m expecting Philly to pull this one out late.
