Tiger Woods 2024 PGA Championship Odds, Betting Preview, and Predictions

Despite now playing at 48 years old, Tiger Woods' influence on ratings and drama remains bigger than Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

Woods made the cut at Augusta National to extend his streak of achieving that feat back in early April during the first major of the 2024 PGA Tour season. Now, he's prepared to tee off at Valhalla for the 2024 PGA Championship. This is a course that Woods won at back in 2000, going back-to-back with PGA Championship victories in 1999 and 2000.

In recent years, due to various physical ailments, we've seen a missed cut, T37 finish, and a withdrawal from the PGA Championship. Woods didn't compete in the field at Oak Hill C.C. in 2023, but he endured four rounds at The Masters, although he noticeably wore down during the final two rounds.

PGA handicapper Matt MacKay is here to share the latest PGA Championship odds for Tiger Woods ahead of Round 1 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

TIGER WOODS PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: WINNER +35000 (Bet $100 to collect $35100)

Oddsmakers are bearish on Woods channeling the 2000 version of himself at Valhalla this week. He's 350-1 to win outright, giving him less than 0.30 percent chance to wind up taking the winning podium.

It would be an insane payout backing golf's most popular player. However, it's not a smart investment, mainly due to the various back and knee injuries that Woods tends to experience while playing four rounds at recent major events.

TIGER WOODS PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: TOP 5 FINISH +4500 (Bet $100 to collect $4600)

A top-five finish for Woods is still 45-1 odds at FanDuel Sportsbook. This boosts the probability from less than half a percentage point to 2.17 percent, making it a slightly more realistic outcome, although far from a confident wager.

We know that Woods can blast tee shots with power and confidence, however, it's his approach shots and putting that tend to get in the way. It's very bold to take his top-five finish at 45-1 odds, especially since the value drops tenfold compared to where oddsmakers have him valued for an outright win at Valhalla this week.

TIGER WOODS PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: TOP 10 FINISH +1800 (Bet $100 to collect $1900)

The top-ten finish odds for Woods sit at 18-1. This gives him a five percent probability of pulling it off, doubling his chances of a top-five finish.

Woods' driver is his best weapon and Valhalla is designed to reward long shots. However, without consistently accurate irons and a putter that tends to sputter, it's an uphill battle to back the aging superstar to contend for a top-ten finish at +1800 odds.

TIGER WOODS PGA CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS: TOP 40 FINISH +200 (Bet $100 to collect $300)

This is the betting market with a lot of appeal for bettors wanting to invest in Tiger Woods. Assuming that he makes the cut at Valhalla, a top-40 finish is a strong possibility.

After all, we did see Woods record a T37 finish at 1-under-par in 2020 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, California. He did wind up 60th at The Masters a month ago, but at 2-1 odds, oddsmakers are fairly bullish on Woods to wind up with a top-40 finish.

Woods is above several dozen other golfers in this market at DraftKings Sportsbook. It's all predicated on his endurance and how his body holds up. Fortunately, Valhalla has minimal elevation and isn't grueling on the body, which could help Woods secure a top-40 finish during the 2024 PGA Championship.
