PGA Power Rankings: Top 5 Golfers for 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic

For the first time in the history of the PGA Tour, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, will host an event, and there is $4 million in prize money on the lineup for grabs. With no elevated status, and the second major of the year just around the corner, most of the world’s very best have decided to instead play the Wells Fargo Championship

That has created one of the most wide-open fields in recent memory, however, as a field of 132 is set to battle it out starting Thursday. Let’s take a closer look at the five guys I like to rise to the top come Sunday afternoon in Myrtle.

Myrtle Beach Classic Date, Time and Where to Watch

  • Date: Thursday, May 9th- Sunday, May 12th, 2024
  • Opening Tee Time: 8:00 a.m. ET - 6:00 p.m. ET
  • Where: The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
  • Where to Watch: Golf Channel, ESPN+

The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Measuring 7,347 yards, the Par 71 Dunes Golf and Beach Club, in Myrtle Beach shouldn’t overwhelm these guys this week in the slightest. A Robert Trent Jones-designed course, Dunes has ocean views on many of the holes and is renowned for some of the most challenging holes in the Carolinas.

Myrtle Beach Classic Power Rankings

1. Daniel Berger (+2500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Daniel Berger comes into this event red hot, shooting 67 or below each day at the CJ Cup last week, finishing T13 on the week. Ranked T3 in the field in greens in regulation, and Berger rounds out as the best player in this field according to my rankings.

2. Matt Wallace (+3500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Finishing T4 last week at the CJ Cup, Matt Wallace appears over a shoulder injury that hampered the early part of his season.

3. Ryo Hisatsune (+3500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

One of the most slept-on rookies on the Tour, Ryo Hisatsune has four top 20 finishes this year already, and its only May.

4. Troy Merritt (+7500) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

Finishing T9 last week in a crowded CJ Cup top 10, Troy Merritt is turning a corner on the season as he now leads the field in par-3 scoring.

5. Garrick Higgo (+6000) Click here to see which sportsbook has the best odds

A winner in South Carolina three years ago at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree, Garrick Higgo comes in following a T4 at the Zurich a few weeks ago.
