2023 Masters Odds: Cameron Young, Jason Day the Bettors Favorites to Win the Green Jacket

The 2023 Masters tournament takes place from Thursday, April 6 - Sunday, April 9, in Augusta, Georgia. The Masters will be held at Augusta National Golf Club, like it is every year, as it's the only men's major golf championship played at the same course every year.

As one of the most iconic PGA events of the year, now is the perfect time to start diving into the tournament. You'll see every big-name golfer at the Masters, as winning this tournament is every PGA player's dream. Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Rory Mcllroy, Jordan Spieth, Cameron Smith, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Tiger Woods, and many more will compete for a $15 million purse.

While bettors are backing Cameron Young and Jason Day the most, oddsmakers do not agree. The books see Scottie Scheffler as having a chance to earn another Green Jacket. After winning the Phoenix Open for the second straight year last month, Scheffler is listed as the favorite to win with +800 odds.

Let's break it down with the 2023 Masters odds and see where oddsmakers are heading in this tournament compared to the betting public.

As we can see from the 2023 Masters odds, Scottie Scheffler is the favorite, but he is neck-and-neck with both Jon Rahm and Rory Mcllroy. At +800 and +850 odds, the books think this is going to be one close tournament between the three elite golfers.

It makes sense to see both Scheffler and Rahm taking the lead here. Scottie won the 2022 Masters by three strokes over Rory McIlroy, with a final score of 10-under 278. The current World No. 1 will be hungry to add another Green Jacket. As much as oddsmakers believe Scheffler will take home the title again, the betting public doesn't completely agree. Cameron Young is seen as the favorite in the public's eyes, as 11.15% of the bets are placed on him to win outright. Jason Day is a smidge behind with 11.11% of bets. Scheffler is a popular choice as well, with 7.09% of bets placed on him.

Jon Rahm and Rory Mcllroy follow Scheffler in the betting odds with +850 odds. Rahm has had a successful year himself, winning three of the eight events that he finished. However, he struggled at Dell Match Play, where the 28-year-old got upset by Rickie Fowler. Mcllroy, on the other hand, is due for a win. If Rory can earn the Green Jacket, he'll complete the Career Grand Slam.

There's a handful of golfers with over +2000 odds that need to be looked at as well. Jason Day at +2500 is great value, as well as Cameron Young at +3500; these are the two the betting public seems confident in. Max Homa at +3000 is another solid option. A $50 bet on any of these three would payout at least $1,050.

There's a ton to play for at the 2023 Masters. Aside from the prestige of playing at this tournament, the purse is $15 million, giving $2.7 to the first-place winner.

While the Masters' odds can certainly move as there's a handful of days before the event begins, the top golfers we've mentioned should stay on top. This is one of the biggest events of the 2023 PGA Tour, with some of the top names looking to earn the Green Jacket.
