We are back for Game 2 the 2024 Stanley Cup Finals as the Edmonton Oilers are set to battle with the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena in South Florida. Things got nippy in Game 1 as the Cats routed the Oilers 3-0 in the series opener and they will be looking to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series with another win tonight. On the flip side, Edmonton will likely throw the kitchen sink at Florida tonight to try and bring the series level.

EDMONTON OILERS VS. FLORIDA PANTHERS Game 2 PREDICTION
Edmonton is 5-1 following a loss this post season and I do not think there is a more vital game for them to win than this one. Games 2 and 3 are historically the most significant in any series but with Florida holding the edge in this series, a 2-0 deficit is virtually holding a gun to their head. They cannot beat Edmonton four times in the final five games, if they want to win they have to win tonight.
With that said, I still am not biting. Edmonton will score tonight but I do not see them taking down the deeper team with the better net minder in enemy territory. Edmonton grossly outshot Florida in Game 1, if there was a game for them to steal it really should have been that one but Sergei Bobrovsky stood on his head between the pipes.
They are much more talented defensively and deeper all around; they definitely had luck (and a sensational performance from their net minder) in their favor for game one but I can assure you they will not let luck settle things again here tonight. I expect a stronger game from Florida and another win for the Cats on home ice.
