The Colorado Avalanche host the St. Louis Blues in what is the second elimination game of the second round. Will the Av's be able to close it out?
ANALYSIS

St. Louis Blues vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction: Can the Avalanche Close it Out at Home?

The Colorado Avalanche took a 3-1 series lead on Monday night with a dominating 6-3 win in St. Louis. Nazeem Kadri, responded to his many critics (and disgusting hate comments) with a Hat Trick and also added an assist. The St. Louis Blues were off their game from the beginning as the Avs outshot the Blues by a 37-20 margin.

St. Louis Blues vs. Colorado Avalanche Prediction

This series turned early in Game 3, when Jordan Binnington was injured after a collision with Kadri, which was totally clean in my opinion. Binnington took over the crease in Game 4 of the Blues' 1st round series with Minnesota and proceeded to go 4-1 with a 1.72 GAA and a .949 Save percentage. Ville Husso had a fantastic regular season as he took over the starting job in the 2nd half and started the 1st 3 games of the Minnesota series, but has struggled in the playoffs. He now is 1-4 in the playoffs with a 3.76 GAA and a .884 Save%. The major difference between the two is Binnington's ability to handle the puck, which can neutralize Colorado's forecheck. Husso is not an effective puck handler at all and has confidence issues, not exactly the perfect recipe against the league's 2nd best offensive team.

Colorado is on a mission, they have outscored St. Louis 15-11 in this series and have outshot them 149-108. Though the Blues have the Power Play edge as they have scored 4 PPGs in this series, that alone is not going to be enough to overcome a dialed in Avalanche team. I like Colorado to send the Blues packing tonight and will take them along with the over 5.5 at a plus money price as I expect them to add an empty net goal, or two, but they may not even need them.
