The St. Louis Blues battle the Colorado Avalanche in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals tonight, in Denver. Tone's Takes breaks down the game.
ANALYSIS

Colorado Avalanche vs St. Louis Blues Prediction: Can We Expect Goals Tonight in Game 2?

Game 1 saw the Avalanche take a 3-2 overtime decision as Josh Manson scored the game-winner at the  8:02 mark of the first overtime. The Avs led 2-1 late in the third until Jordan Kyrou tied the game at the 16:46 mark.

Colorado, as usual, carried much of the play as they outshot St. Louis 53-25, including a 13-0 edge in overtime. The Avs also hit five posts in the game and missed the net on a number of shot attempts as they tried to shake off some rust. Jordan Binnington had a fine game, making 50 Saves. Penalties were scarce in this game as the Avs had three Power Plays and the Blues only had one, which they scored on.

Let's get into our prediction, picks, and odds for Game 2 between the Avalanche and Blues.

Colorado Avalanche vs St. Louis Blues Game 2 Prediction

I was on the Over in Game 1 and I am going back to it tonight. Game 1 was more of a feeling-out process and I expect a desperate Blues team tonight as they can't afford to go down 0-2 in the series. St. Louis was 23-13 following a loss this season and while I don't expect them to win this game, I do expect their offense to have more of a say.

Nothing much will change with Colorado's game, they are relentless on the puck and that should continue. Binnington has been great in these playoffs but even if he keeps up that pace, it may not be enough.

Expected goals in Game 1 was 6.98, which can be attributed to the posts and missed shots by the Avs. We also should see more Power Plays in this game, which also could lead to goals as both Power Plays are top four in the playoffs in goals scored.
