Colorado Avalanche vs. Nashville Predators Prediction

The Nashville Predators visit the Colorado Avalanche tonight, in Denver. Both of these teams are playoff-bound as the Avs will be the number one seed in the west and the Preds will be one of the Wild Card Teams. As it currently stands, this will be a first-round playoff matchup. Nashville is one point behind Dallas with 1 game in hand. The Preds finalize their schedule tomorrow, at Arizona and Dallas has a home game against Anaheim. The Predators were dealt a blow in Tuesday's loss to Calgary as Jusse Saros suffered an injury, Saros will miss the remaining two games of the regular season.

On the road this season, where Overs are 28-11, Nashville averages 3.26 goals per game and their Power Play is 4th, at 25.9%. The Preds are allowing 3.31 goals per game on the road and their Penalty Kill is bottom ten at 77.3%. Nashville has also taken the most penalties on the road in the league this season. The Predators are 16th in five on five scoring on the road and 17th in goals against. Due to the Saros injury, the Preds will turn to David Rittich in goal. Rittich has a 3.56 goals-against average and a .886 save percentage in 16 games this season, 11 being starts.

At home, this season, where Overs are 20-17, the Avs average 4.15 goals per game, which is second-best in the league, and their Power Play is 11th, at 23.8%. The Avs are allowing 2.53 goals per game, on the road, and their Penalty Kill is 77.8%, which is the bottom ten in the league. Colorado is 3rd in five on five scoring, at home, and 3rd in goals against.

This is the 4th meeting of the season between these teams, the Over has hit in all three games as a total of 24 goals were scored, which resulted in 2 Nashville wins. Even if the Avalanche rests some of their players, I think we see plenty of goals in this one. I buy some juice to get the number to 6, just in case.
