NHL Thursday's Best Bet: Toronto Maple Leafs vs Washington Capitals and Avalanche vs Devils

Toronto Maple Leafs vs Washington Capitals Prediction

Toronto just got whooped by Buffalo again after and have dropped some other tough games in the last week like the blown lead to Florida.

Post-All-Star break, Washington is sporting a league 6th best 3.62 GF/G; Toronto counters with an incredible league 2nd best 4.06 GF/G. Their problem is they are also sporting a league 6th worst 3.68 GAA.

For us however that is not a problem, it is a gift. This Toronto team is so damn good and they possess so much firepower and true talent but time and time again no matter what they have done they cannot keep the other team from putting the puck in the back of the net. They have tried time and time again to play the defensive game and it has failed, they can’t.

They have started to play the game the Florida, Colorado and a few others play: we are going to win this hockey game because we are going to score more goals than you. Not many in the league can pull it off but Auston Mathews and Co. are one of the few that pull it off. They will push the pace early as this one and the first period should be electric as Toronto 1st periods always are.

Washington tends to start slower but they have flipped the switch as of late cashing the 1P o1.5 in 8 of their last ten. Washington is also 8-2 L10 overs and have cashed their team total in nine of their last ten road games. They are obviously a very offensively talented team lead by the Great Eight but they tend to excel on the power play and get going later; lately, they have done otherwise and we love it in this matchup.

Toronto is both 7-3 L10 1P o1.5’s and GIFTS and ranks within the top five for the league in both categories on the season. The over has hit in four of the last five meetings between these squads. This one should get going early but whenever they start coming I believe they roll in bunches.

Colorado Avalanche vs New Jersey Devils Prediction

Well I do not have goalie confirmations on this one yet so I am not going to chat on it for too long but I am 90% sure I do know; in the end, though I am not sure if I would care. It should be Nico Daws for New Jersey but anyone else they would potentially put out there would not be an improvement.

New Jersey is conceding at a league 4th worst 3.83 GAA rate since the break and have not shown signs of improvement. They play hard and fast, the 1P o1.5 and GIFT rates they hit at back those numbers, and trust me they can get after anyone on a night; it just won’t be Colorado tonight.

New Jersey is sporting a 2.97 GF/G on the road and with the pace of play and backup netminder in for Colorado -Darcy played last night, should be Pavel- I do believe they net a few; Colorado will do the rest. Colorado dropped nine on LA last night and are sporting a 4.14 GF/G at home this season. They are really starting to fire on all cylinders right now and last night just proved how dominant they can be if they are clicking and healthy.

I do not have much more to say here; the only way this total does not hit is if Colorado puts up a few and shuts out New Jersey but I do not see it. even in a shutout, I think Colorado can hit the total themselves here.

Colorado TT o3.5 (-145) ( play to -160) (Bet $145 to Win $100)

2u Colorado/New Jersey o6.5 (-120) (Bet $120 to Win $100)
