Buffalo Sabres vs St. Louis Blues Prediction: Trust the Total in Buffalo

This evening the red-hot St. Louis Blues will be in Buffalo to close out their road trip in this clash with the Sabres. My boys have been electric these last few weeks going 8-0-1 across their last nine games while scoring 44 goals in the process for an impressive 4.89 GF/G average. They needed to make the run, won the big games, and have put themselves right back into the conversation that they were in earlier this year if not better. This squad looks like a team ready to make a run.

As you all know I have two rules when it comes to betting my squad; I never fade them but that does not mean I always back them. Can they win out the season? Of course. Is it likely? No. I am sure that they will continue to play amazing hockey but just like they will in the playoffs, they should drop a game or two somewhere.

Buffalo Sabres vs St. Louis Blues Prediction

St. Louis is a superior squad to Buffalo but this is what I could see as a letdown spot having backup netminder Jordan Binnington in net and considering they have not lost a game in over two weeks. I believe St. Louis wins this one but I see a barnburner above all else and could easily see a 3-3 finish with some bonus action at the end for us.

Buffalo is out of the conversation this year but are playing well as of late and have found their scoring game in a nice way. They have seemed to love this role they have developed as the spoilers, knocking off multiple teams chasing playoff seeding over the last few months and I am sure they want to do the same on home Ice this evening.

Buffalo sends out Craig Anderson this evening who despite some solid performances this season is on the back end of his career and more times than not has been good to give up three or more this season. St. Louis is netting nearly five goals a game right now and sporting a 3.93 GF/G post ASB. Buffalo is sporting a 3.35 GAA at home; a 3.57 GAA post ASB.

Trust the total, these teams are going to get after it. The over has cashed in four straight between these squads.
