NHL Tuesday's Best Bets: Boston Bruins vs Detroit Red Wings and Hurricanes vs Sabers

This evening there is a huge slate and I am excited to get after it; we don’t have too many big slates left on the season so we have to attack while we can. Now I am still waiting on goalie confirmations across the league for quite a few spots so I have not fully finished crafting my card yet so rather than try to build up a big narrative on everything today I figured I’d shake things up today and pretty much get straight to the action.

I am keeping things simple today, let’s get to it.

Boston Bruins vs Detroit Red Wings Predictions

Boston is on the second leg of a back-to-back here but that should not matter; I expect them to roll tonight. Detroit has dropped fifteen of their last sixteen games and I see absolutely no reason as to why they right the ship here tonight against the Bruins who a red-hot right now. This is their time of year, I said it last night.

This is the stretch where the truly good Boston teams really gel together and start to play their best hockey of the season heading into the playoffs; this year appears to have the potential for that. I do not care who they see in round one of the playoffs, they are good enough to beat anyone and I only think they are better in a seven-game series.

Once again though the playoffs do not matter tonight I know they are sneaking up quickly. Boston is dealing with an incredibly tough divisional race this season and they need every point they can muster. Detroit is sporting a league-worst 4.77 GAA post-All-Star break and with Boston on a back-to-back where they did not light the lamp as much last night, I expect them to do so tonight.

Boston Bruins vs Detroit Red Wings Pick

Carolina Hurricanes vs Buffalo Sabers Prediction

You all should be well aware of how high I am on the Carolina Hurricanes this season and it is for a plethora of good reasons. They play exceptional hockey the strong majority of the time they take the ice and have very few flaws In their game.

I am not a Carolina Hurricanes fan worshiping them here, the facts are indisputable in my professional opinion. They consistently do the right things the majority of the time night in and night out; if you do that with the talent they possess you are going to win a lot of hockey games. Hell even when they lose they play well, other than a game against Washington last month if you take a look at recent losses they have had they could have (should have) won a good amount of those games.

Carolina is well-rested here and going to Buffalo to take on the Sabers; there really doesn’t need to be much more said than that. I am backing a good team to do good things in a good spot for us here as they have all season long.

Bonus plays!

1 unit - Florida Panthers ML (-162) (Bet $162 to Win $100)

(gave these two out in the AM on The Morning Edge!)

3 units - Florida Panthers/Toronto Maple Leafs 1P o1.5/o5.5 (-130) (Bet $130 to Win $100)

(I love 1P o1.5 and o6/6.5 here but the lines are juiced like crazy so I went with a SGP instead; if you do not have that option, just look to parlay one of those elsewhere!

2 units - Carolina TT o3.5 (-120) (play up to -140) (Bet $140 to Win $100)
