Despite not having a shot at the playoffs this season Buffalo is one of the squads that has not lost their fight; they have genuinely played some excellent hockey in the last couple of months and seem like they are out to make things difficult for the rest of the league. If they can’t make a run at the cup why not make it harder for others? They are not rolling over by any means and I do not expect them to do anything of the sort tonight; that is why I like the total.
Nashville has worked their way into the playoff conversation and are fighting with a few other squads for that 3 or 4 seed. They sit in fourth tonight as St. Louis overtook them by a point the other night and will be playing again tonight as well. Every opportunity to get two points at this point in the season is vital I believe they are motivated to do so tonight.
The over is 8-2 across Nashville’s last ten contests; they tend to really turn things up on the road where the total is a perfect 10-0 last across their last ten I expect them to do so again here tonight. Before their last tilt went under, the over had hit in five consecutive Buffalo games.
Post-All-Star break Buffalo is conceding 3.52 GPG and netting a tad under three at 2.97; Nashville compliments those numbers conceding 3.33 GPG and netting a league 5th best 3.65 GF/G in the same period of time.

Tonight, we are fading Chicago again, and for good reason. They are on the second day of a back-to-back here and after a shutout 4-0 loss to the Florida Panthers last night have to take on the back-to-back reigning Stanley Cup Champions. Chicago is 24-34-10 and sit 27 points out of playoff contention.
Tampa Bay hit a rough little run for a week or two but nothing too major and I believe they have finally caught fire again and they did it at a good time to do so with the final month of the season beginning today. They love to play on home ice and have strung together some excellent wins over their last few contests.
They own Chicago and have won the last five consecutive meetings between the two clubs; in those five meetings, they scored 27 goals and at least covered the -1.5 puck line. Chicago has been conceding goals like crazy this season and are sporting a 3.73 GAA post-All-Star break. Back the Bolts.
