Washington Capitals vs. New Jersey Devils Prediction: Look for These Squads to Light the Lamp

I do not mind Washington being on a back-to-back here; I am not backing the moneyline though, I love the total!

They are in great form and put up four again last night and are back on home ice tonight to take on a lowly, non-cup chasing team tonight with the New Jersey Devils. They are sporting a flat 4.00 GA/G average on the road this season and they are showing no signs of improvement.

They have however started scoring and with their recent numbers combined with Washington should do (3.42 GF/G Post ASB) I think these two squads make this one fun tonight. Since the break the Devils have been burying the biscuit at a league 5th best 3.64 GFA in nineteen games; I do believe they struggle a bit more to do that here against a strong defensive team on home Ice but they do consistently give up two or three despite good play on the back end.

New Jersey has been amazing with GIFT plays and 1st period over 1.5’s all season long and for that reason, along with the Capitals current form I really like this total on this spot today specifically. It always is appealing to back it with a team that has hit bets around 67-70% all season long but by this point in the season you have to be picky. New Jersey is 8-1-1 L10  1P o1.5 on road games. Washington has cashed seven of their last ten.

The full game total has gone over in nine of their last ten contests.
