Nashville Predators vs Vegas Golden Knights Prediction

Nashville 7-3 L10 TT on the road and 4-1 L5; 8-2 L10 overall. They are fighting in a very tough Central division race that is honestly wide open in the back end (more on that later) but this is a big point game for them if they can go get them. They are sitting in fourth but with a win and loss from STL/MIN, they take the second seat.

Even if they don’t both lose they move up and they want to here tonight and should be able to jump on a weak Vegas squad. Other than the four points they picked up last week they have played awful hockey; they are not getting anything done offensively and are giving up goals plan and simple.

They were shut out on a back-to-back in their last two games and there is no reason to believe they magically figure it out right here; they may play along but I do not expect Nashville to take them lightly. They lost last night but have their main man between the pipes this evening and are ready to get after this team tonight.

Philadelphia Flyers vs St. Louis Blues Prediction

This game is a simple one for me and I will not build a narrative so we can eliminate any potential bias here as I am a fan of the notes. This game is important for St. Louis and it is not important whatsoever for the Flyers. They have the much better squad here and hold the two-seat in a tight central division with multiple squads playing tonight chasing their tail looking to overtake them.

They have been one of the best offensive teams in the league since the break and at home, in particular, all season long; even with now secondary netminder Jordan Binnington in net they hold the edge still here with Martin Jones between the pipes for Philly.

St. Louis holds the two seed by 1 goal over two squads and tails the leader in Colorado by 16. Philly is tied for last in their division and trail by 49 points. I do not care if Philly puts a few up; I am sure they will and I like the total for that reason as well.

Back the blues at home.

San Jose Sharks vs Edmonton Oilers Prediction

Edmonton is 7-3 in their last ten home tilts; San Jose is a lowly 3-7 on the road in the same amount of time. I really am not a huge model’s guy, but I do find some of them to be pretty accurate and trustworthy (that is just as trustworthy as any betting advice can be I mean) and the model agrees here with them taking the two points in roughly 71.5% of simulations out of ten thousand.

I agree with that model. This is an important game for the Oilers and Mike Smith specifically; this is a meaningless game for the San Jose Sharks. The Oilers went ice cold mid-season and lost the jump they had on the rest of the pack; they have had to fight and claw their way back and have put themselves in a good spot but they need a little more to be comfortable.

The Oilers decided to roll with their duo in Mikko & Mike rather than make a move at the deadline this year; the former, Mikko Koskinen has earned that starting role and is looking good for a run in the postseason with days off. Smith on the other hand has dropped out of form and has not strung too many clean performances together in a while and they would love for him to get on track here going into the playoffs.

If Mike Smith wants to stay in Edmonton next season I think he would like to do the same. I am backing the Dynamic Duo here tonight at home; it may be a high-scoring affair, when McDavid and Draisitili are on the ice it tends to be, but in the end, I think the Oilers have the horses to win this one as they look to keep in stride.
