Since the All-Star break Arizona has been one of the best scoring teams in the league; normally hearing that I would brush it off but six weeks and seventeen games later they are still really getting after and sporting some solid numbers that are hard to look past. Since the break, they have buried 63 biscuits complemented by 107 assists through those seventeen games for a solid 3.71 GF/G. 

What is even more impressive is their power play is really, really poor hitting at a lowly 15.8% as of late; that means they are scoring even-strength goals in bunches in good spots and this is one here tonight.

This is a lost season for them, they have no playoff aspirations, but they are not selling the house either and they have been molding well as a squad in the back end of the season here. Yes, I know they are not smoking some of the best teams in the league, although they have beaten a few cup contenders. But what is important to me is they are getting after who they need to get after. 

When you are fighting for wins and a lot of teams around the league have an edge on you, you simply have to get your points & wins where you can get them because you are fighting for them constantly. Seattle is a team they can get after and I expect them to.

Before the All-Star break, Seattle was sporting a 3.43 GAA; since the all-star break, they are sporting a 3.94 GAA. Now don’t get me wrong Arizona has been giving them up too and I believe they are good for a few here tonight but I just don’t see their form improving right now, there is no real reason it should. 

They have struggled to score and keep teams from scoring all season long, there really is no other way to put it. They are an expansion team and I know they are going to need to improve their roster quite a bit to get something really going there but that might be a while. They just delt six of their starters to teams around the league before the deadline and have a lot of young blood on the ice.
