The Colorado Avalanche travel to Jersey to take on the New Jersey Devils. Here's our guy, JT Miller's favorite play from this game.
ANALYSIS

Colorado Avalanche vs New Jersey Devils Best Bet: Let the Goals Flow

So, the first game we are diving into today is most likely my favorite on the slate today and I jumped all over it last night. The lines have steamed quite a bit across the board, but it does not scare me off it at all and we just attack it differently.

Colorado Avalanche vs New Jersey Devils Prediction

Colorado is on the back end of a back-to-back although that really does not mean much when talking about a squad of this caliber. They are one of the top two-three squads in the National Hockey League and they are a solid squad from top to bottom. They are second in the league in scoring and just seven goals shy of the leading Florida Panthers; they are one of the most offensively potent and gifted teams in the last ten to fifteen years to take the ice.

Guys like MacKinnon, Kadri, and Landeskog just have a presence while on the ice and such a high sense of awareness while on the ice that they just make things happen. Even though the back end was shotty to start the year they have cleaned things up defensively a bit, not to mention standouts in Cale Makar and Devon Toews who are also very involved in the offensive scheme.

They will score goals tonight.

The good thing is I think the fellas from New Jersey will as well. They have played well lately and are netting a solid 3.11 GF/G at home this season. They have been getting after teams early and that is how they have been getting some of their recent momentum; the first period over 1.5 has hit is 25 of their last 31 contests and they are doing their part as well unlike some of their play earlier in the season. They are 7-1-2 on the first period moneyline across their last ten and that is lovely for us.

They should score and hopefully do it early but they just will not be able to stop Colorado from getting theirs as well. They have played great defense lately but their netminder situation is still quite poor. They are giving up 3.25 GPG at home while Colorado is netting 3.71 GF/G on the road this season.

New Jersey has killed off EVERY single penalty against them at home this season since the new year began. That is awesome but it cannot last; Colorado has bagged at least one on the man advantage in at least three of their last four games.

As I said earlier, I jumped on this one last night; a beautiful over 5.5 line at -135. That has been steamed out of existence and is sitting 30 to 60 cents higher based on where you wager but I still love that number at six and 5.5 is an excellent parlay piece if you have access to it.

I am attacking this one a few ways; best of luck to all those who tail!
