St. Louis Blues vs Philadelphia Flyers Prediction

The Flyers are a dumpster fire, respectfully. They are 2-17 since January 1 and have no playoff aspirations this year, it is a lost season. They did pick up a point last night against a great Carolina Hurricanes squad despite dropping the game 4-3 but Philadelphia now finds themselves on the second half of a back-to-back against the St. Louis Blues.

Tonight, they are a win away from taking the number two spot in a very tight Central Division race and I expect them to do so. St. Louis is scoring 3.21 GF/G on the road this season and that matches up nicely with a Philly squad allowing 3.48 GPG in their own barn. It is already hard enough playing a B2B, it gets significantly harder against a squad like this.

The goalie controversy in St. Louis has been resolved, Ville Husso is the number one netminder for the notes. If he was in net I’d love the Blues even more than I do tonight but with him getting the day off and Jordan Binnington between the pipes that changes. He is seriously struggling this season and his presence in net opens this one for some more action.

I still love the Blues tonight as they are the far better team and are squaring off against backup netminder Martin Jones on a back-to-back since Carter Hart is out. They should get their two points against a struggling squad and keep the momentum rolling but as always I just love goals here and see potential for plenty.

St Louis is 11-0 across their L10 1P o1.5’s and 8-2 L10 GIFT’s. Philly ranks among the middle of the pack for both categories as of late however it is a schedule spot for them to hit these; they are playing a great squad on a B2B with backup netminders between the pipes on both ends of the ice.
