CHARLES OLIVEIRA VS. ARMAN TSARUKYAN PREDICTION
Charles Oliveira bounced back from a title loss against Islam Makhachev in 2022 by stopping Beneil Dariush in the first round of their fight in June of last year. The loss to Makhachev in 2022 ended an 11-fight win streak for Oliveira, which saw him win the belt in 2021 and defend it twice. Olivera is widely regarded as one of the best finishers in the UFC right now and even in UFC history. In his 34 wins over his career, 21 have come by submission and 10 have come by knockout. He is one of the best submission artists in the lightweight division, he has also developed a nasty striking game to go along with his ground game.
On the other side, Arman Tsarukyan has developed a finishing accolade of his own. Tsarukyan is also coming off a stoppage against Beneil Dariush in the first round of last year. Arman is now on a three-fight win streak and has climbed the UFC rankings his way up to number four. With Oliveira ranked No. 1 in the division right now, a win in this fight would prove massive for Arman and put him on the verge of a title shot.
Since his loss to Islam Makhachev in his UFC debut, Arman has gone 8–1 in the UFC, with the lone loss coming to Mateusz Gamrot. He has finished four fights over that span as well. This will prove to be the biggest fight of his career so far and he will have to be on point against the dangerous Oliveira. it seems the books have made Arman Tsarukyan a pretty sizable favorite in this fight, and I’m not sure I agree. Arman has looked impressive over UFC tenure so far, but this will stand to be his toughest test date. Arman is coming off the best of his career against Beneil Dariush, but even then, Oliveira just finished him in the first round of his last fight as well. Oliveira has fought some very dangerous fighters over his long run in the UFC, and I’m not sure Arman will bring anything to the table that Oliveira hasn’t seen before. Arman will likely look to take this fight to the ground, and with Charles Oliveira being a black belt and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, I like him to defend himself well on the mat and possibly even find a submission from a reversal or even off his back. Charles will get back to a shot at the belt.
