Tennessee vs FAU Same-Game Parlay Picks

These two teams couldn't be more different. While all the hype seems to surround the Volunteers entering this game, that's not who I have my eyes on. Yes, Tennessee just defeated No. 5 seed Duke in a remarkable matchup, while FAU struggled at times during their win over 16-seeded FDU. With that said, I don't think this will be a cakewalk for the Vols.

Throughout the 2022-2023 season, the Owls are 22-0 in home or neutral court. FAU's impressive 33-3 record comes from a handful of factors. Aside from skillful players on the roster that can make threes like no other, the Owls' bench brings an upbeat energy that's needed during the NCAA Tournament. FAU shot the 18th-most three-pointers per game, led by a cluster of talented sophomore players, including Alijah Martin and Johnell Davis.

This will be an extremely difficult task for the Owls, going against the third-best scoring defense in the nation. Tennessee averages 8.3 steals per game and are one of the most explosive teams in college basketball. If FAU can repeat the same type of performance as when they beat Memphis, the Owls have a chance at winning. Almost everyone thinks the Volunteers have this in the bag; let's prove them wrong. Back the dog.

As mentioned earlier, Johnell Davis runs the Owls' offense. In the Round of 32, everyone had their eyes on Davis as he had one monstrous game. 29 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and five steals. It was epic. Johnell became the first player in NCAA Tournament history to match or exceed those numbers. Averaging 13.9 points per game, the sophomore plays the most essential role for the Owls.

While he's put up over 29 points in just two games this year, Davis has continued to be consistent in his scoring throughout the whole season. What do we need from the 6'4 guard tomorrow? 13.5 points. That's it. Johnell has hit this prop in 18/34 games, more than half of the games he's played in. With everything on the line for the Owls, Davis will be more than motivated tomorrow. It has been more than two decades since FAU made it to March Madness and their first time reaching the Sweet 16.
