Boston Celtics vs. Dallas Mavericks Player Props: Can PJ Washington Get Hot From 3 in NBA Finals Game 4?

The Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics meet in Game 4 of the NBA Finals tonight from the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The Mavericks have fought hard behind their star duo of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic, but it has not been enough, as they find themselves down 0–3 in the series and are looking at a sweep tonight if they lose.

BOSTON CELTICS VS. DALLAS MAVERICKS GAME 4 PREDICTION

Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic have combined for over half of the team's points in this series. The Mavericks have averaged 95.3 points per game over the three games in this series, and Luca and Kyrie have combined for 50.7 points per game of those 95. The Mavericks simply need some help on offense, as they have failed to score 100 points so far in this series. Tonight, I think PJ Washington could bring some help. PJ Washington had an excellent conference semifinal against the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 17.7 points per game and shooting 47% from three with 3.8 threes per game on average in that series. He then regressed a bit in the next series against the Timberwolves in the conference finals, averaging 12.2 points per game and shooting 25% from three. That slump continued into the beginning of the finals, as he shot 0–3 from deep in game one and 1-5 from deep in game two. Despite keeping his scoring in the mid-teens, his three-point shooting had not been there since the beginning of the Timberwolves series. That changed last game when PJ Washington shot 3–6 from three in Game 3. I believe part of Washington's success in Game 3 was the fact that he was playing in front of his home crowd. PJ Washington scored a lot more at home this season, averaging 15.1 points per game in 35 home games and just 10.8 points per game on the road in 38 games. It seems PJ Washington was able to break out of his three-point shooting slump last game against the Celtics and I expect him to have another good performance in Game 4, as Luka and Kyrie desperately need some help.

Although it is a small sample size, PJ Washington played two games against the Celtics during the regular season and shot 3–9 from three in both. His line is set at 1.5 threes tonight with some solid juice on the over. While it is a bit juicy, taking him to hit two threes seems like a sure thing and can be a great addition to any parlays. If you want to take a little bit more of the risk, he is +175 to hit three threes, as he did in both regular-season games against the Celtics and also in Game 3.
