There haven’t been many better starting pitchers than Tanner Houck this season. He currently owns a 2.24 ERA, one of the best in baseball. If you’ve watched his starts, you’d notice that he hasn’t quite looked as sharp in his most recent outings as he did in the beginning of the season. After giving up six hits to both the Nationals and Twins, Houck will be tasked with silencing the Rays bats, who have been red-hot as of late. I like Tampa Bay’s matchup against the right-hander who they’ve seen a few times. Sell high on your Tanner Houck stock before it’s too late…
I think Taj Bradley is going to prove to a lot of people this season that he’s one of the best young arms in baseball. The 23-year-old shut down the Yankees in his 2024 debut; I like his chances against the Red Sox who barely have an on-base percentage above .300 on the season. After a win last night, I’m expecting the Red Sox to get caught off guard by Bradley’s electric stuff on Wednesday night.
The Rays haven’t found much success against the Red Sox in recent matchups, but I can’t resist the Rays at plus money in this spot. I like what I’m seeing out of the Rays offense in May. Back their bats to get to Houck like the Nationals and Twins did in his last two outings. Fade Houck and the Red Sox, and back the Rays to earn a win on the road tonight; I’ll meet you at the cash counter.
