This is an early game, so be sure to place this as soon as possible. This is a revenge spot for Flaherty against his former team who moved on from him. I expect him to be highly motivated to pitch his best stuff today at Comerica Park.

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Detroit Tigers Prediction

Flaherty has hit this line in four of five starts this year, and St. Louis has an offense that doesn’t strike much fear into me. 17 of 28 starting pitchers that have faced St. Louis have hit this number. Flaherty should have a long leash today with these teams playing a double header today. Detroit will want to keep their pen fresh for Game 2, so Flaherty should throw 90+ pitches easily.

Flaherty isn’t an ace, but he is very efficient at quick outs. We just need him to average 16 pitches or so an inning, because I’m confident he throws into the mid 90’s for a pitch count. His rate is great, the teams been allowing opposing pitchers to hit it and he has extra motivation than a typical game. We’re getting great odds here at nearly plus odds too, lets roll!
