Our picks for today's MLB action
ANALYSIS

We have a busy Friday evening with 13 games in the evening slate. Let’s take a look where we can some value this evenng.

Here are Today’s MLB Picks:

Braves @ Mets

This is a massive pitching mismatch. Mike Foltynewicz has been wildly inconsistent since starting his season late with injury. He has a 6.09 ERA through 14 outings and has allowed four or more earned runs in four of his last eight starts. Meanwhile he faces Jacob deGrom who has allowed a grand total of five earned runs in his seven starts since the All-Star break. The Mets have managed to cover as favorites in three of their last four games.

1u –NY Mets -1.5 @ +114

Rangers @ White Sox

The Rangers laid a massive egg last night, but they have struggled this season against left-handed pitchers. They have been better against right-handed pitchers this season and now they get to face off against Dylan Cease. Cease has a 5.93 ERA and has allowed four or more earned runs in five of his eight outings this season. With the weather expected to favor hitting the Rangers to score five or more runs feels a solid bet.

1u – TEX Rangers Over 4.5 Team Runs @ -125

Rockies @ Cardinals

This a tough game. On one hand we have Jack Flaherty rolling along on great form, having allowed just four earned runs in seven starts since the All-Star break and winning three of his last four. However, I cannot back the Cardinals to cover the spread because I do not trust their hitters. Therefore, this leads me to a different route. Peter Lambert has not been good, with a 6.55 ERA, but outside of his trip to Houston recently he has kept the runs down on the road. With this total being set at 8.5 and Flaherty likely to keep it tight on his end, all the Rockies and Lambert need to do is keep the Cardinals to less than six runs. I think that is more than possible.

1u – Under 8.5 Total Runs @ -104

Red Sox @ Padres

This should be a really interesting matchup with these two pitchers on the mound. Chris Paddack has been really good at home this season with a 2.53 ERA and a .168 batting average against. Eduardo Rodriguez has struggled a little away from home, but he has been good against middling or bad offenses. The Padres do not have a great offense without Fernando Tatis Jr. and the weather tending towards favoring pitchers. This should be a low scoring affair out in San Diego.

1u – Under 8 Total Runs @ -106
