Our picks for today's MLB action
ANALYSIS

Tuesday brings us one afternoon game and then a loaded evening slate. With temperatures soaring again this could be a day to get behind hitting in a big way.

Here are Today’s MLB Picks:

Royals @ Orioles

This could be a wild day in the majors and not many places get as wild as it does in Camden Yards. That is especially the case today with the pitchers on show today. Dylan Bundy has a 5.25 ERA and has allowed four or more earned runs in five of his last 10 starts. Brad Keller has a 4.10 ERA and has allowed 14 earned runs in his last four starts, allowing 26hits and walking seven. With the weather in this massively favoring hitters the over is looking nice value here.

1u – Over 9.5 Total Runs @ -110

Phillies @ Red Sox

Aaron Nola and the Phillies versus Brian Johnson and the Red Sox bullpen in hitter friendly conditions. Yes, it has not been a great year for Nola, especially on the road, but give me Nola all day. Johnson has a 6.45 ERA, and while he has been better at home this could be a rough day in Fenway for pitching. This is simply all about pitcher discrepancy for me and I will take the Phillies as slight favorites in this one.

1u – PHI Phillies @ -110

Brewers @ Cardinals

Yesterday in St Louis was not as high scoring as I expected, but I think that gets put right today. Gio Gonzalez has got out of the fifth inning just once in his last 10 starts and this bullpen is still reeling from a rough weekend. The Brewers need Gonzalez to so something he cannot do and go deep. This could be a tough day for this pitching staff. On the other side we have Michael Wacha, who has only pitched five innings once since the beginning of July. Throw in extremely hitter friendly weather to the equation and this could be an interesting day in St. Louis.

1u – Over 9.5 Total Runs @ -115

White Sox @ Twins

Two of the more variable pitchers in the major leagues meet in extreme hitter friendly conditions. Reynaldo Lopez has a 5.29 ERA this season and allowed five earned runs in his last start, takes on Michael Pineda and his 4.20 ERA. Pineda has been much better over the last few weeks, but he still has the ability to blow up from time to time. With the wind blowing hard out to right field any balls hit in the air will be a threat to leave the ball park in this one. We may see the brilliant versions of these two turn up today, but odds are at least one of them struggles in a big way so the over feels the right way to go in this one.

1u – CHI White Sox +1.5 @ +100
