Just a Touch is our pick for the 2024 Kentucky Derby. He can very much follow in the footsteps of last year's winner, Mage. Both horses were unraced as a 2-year-old and then finished runner-up in the most recent prep race for the Kentucky Derby.
Sure, that means there is some inexperience to overcome, but Just a Touch is fast enough to overcome that and win a race of this stature. He held the lead in the Blue Grass Stakes, before one of the favorites for this race, Sierra Leone passed him at the end. Will he reverse that result in the biggest race of the year? We think he can.
