Liverpool averages 20 shots a game this season, and 24 shots in their last five games in the Premier League. In the reverse fixture, Liverpool took 26 shots. If you follow Premier League and know anything about Liverpool, you know they take a ton of shots, and miss a ton of shots too. They're one of the worst teams in England when it comes to expected goals, versus actual goals.
On the flip side, they're one of the best at creating opportunities. To compensate for this, they need to take a lot more shots. Everton's right back was injured recently, and out for the season which is a huge blow to Everton's defense. They're going to struggle with possession up front too, as their striker took a knock, and his replacement then got concussed, and is out for this match.
The Premier League is much more open game, unlike the Italian League where defense reigns supreme, expect a lot of shots going in this going. I'm expecting Liverpool to control the majority of the possession and take full advantage of Everton's weaknesses upfront and on the right flank. Expect plenty of action from Luis Diaz, and Mo Salah to continue his trend of scoring against Everton. While this is a derby game, Everton are not a good side, and Liverpool has too much riding on this game to not go into full attack mode today.
