NASCAR's Xfinity Series heads to Las Vegas, NV today for the Alsco Uniforms 302 race. Need picks for today's race? Phil Bobbitt has you covered. Read on to see why he's eyeing Austin Hill.
ANALYSIS

NASCAR Prediction and Picks: Is Austin Hill Good Value at the Xfinity Series' Alsco Uniforms 302?

We're closing in on Halloween, or as my girlfriend says, "Spooky Season." Obviously, re-watching a few suspenseful mini-series like The Haunting of Hill House and Stranger Things feels like the right move during this time of year. In the most recent season of Stranger Things, Max is saved from the Vecna several times by listening to "Running Up That Hill" on her cassette player. Truly simpler times.

That 1985 Kate Bush is still a banger today. Quite frankly, the lyrics are a dead giveaway that she's a NASCAR Xfinity race fan and that she definitely gambles on racing.

If I only could, I'd make a deal with God And I'd get Him to swap our places And be running up that road, be running up that hill With no problems

You started singing that in your head, no doubt.

Xfinity Series' Alsco Uniforms 302 Picks

*All Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing*

0.2u to win 4.0u - Austin Hill to outright win the Alsco Uniforms 302 (+2000) (Bet $100 to win $2000)

0.8u to win 1.6u - Austin Hill to finish inside the Top-5 (+200) (Bet $100 to win $200)

1.05u to win 1.0u - Austin Hill to finish ahead of Josh Berry (-105) (Bet $105 to win $100)

We're working with a very slim deck of places to play this right now. It should be available at a few more shops and you will probably be able to find a better price on the Top-5 if you diligently search. It's important because this thing is a winner. 1985 Kate Bush wants us to bet on Austin Hill this week in 2022. It's almost like time travel.

Xfinity Series' Alsco Uniforms 302 Prediction

At Las Vegas earlier this year, Austin Hill was running fifth with 12 laps to go and was flat-out wrecked by Ryan Truex. Bozo the clown-type stuff. The Kansas race was rain-shortened and was called after the conclusion of the second stage. Hill managed to lead three laps and was seventh in driver rating. Richard Childress' racing team simply missed off the truck at Charlotte, and he finished a disappointing 14th but rebounded to finish fifth at Michigan.

Hill is ninth in average running position in our dataset. While he hasn't had flashy finishes, he has found a way to consistently be in the mix on race day. Hill is eighth in average laps led per contest (4.3), which means they've brought some raw speed on this track type.

During tonight's practice session, Hill was seventh in five-lap average, and fifth in 10-lap average. Josh Berry was 20th overall in five-lap average and did not extend the run further. Hill will be starting eighth and Berry will roll off in 12th.

Hill also has the number one ranked pit crew when it comes to a four-tire pit stop when using the 40 best pit stops of 2022. Berry's service team is impressive as well (third), but we can bank on a small advantage every time the fellas turn em' down pit road. Both drivers are also still alive in the Xfinity playoffs, so they should share the same motivation level.

Austin Hill has won twice previously in the Camping World Truck Series at Las Vegas, so rest assured he knows where to park the car after we win these wagers together.

We feel good about Austin Hill on Saturday. He is an absolute wheelman who consistently out-drives his equipment. His unlimited potential has us believing that we'll be crawling up that Hill with no problems on Saturday. Kate Bush would want that for us.
